EPA's Renovation, Repair, and Painting Affects You - Lead-Based Paint Hazard |
| The new EPA standard for lead paint removal is effective April 22, 2010. As of that date all covered renovations must be performed by Certified Firms using Certified Renovators. There is an abundance of information on the NAHB website www.nagn.org/leadpaint, also available through NAHB-members only, is a Contract Notice and Disclaimer for work performed currently until the new law takes effect. This new standard affects contractors, property managers, and others performing minor maintenance and repairs, including the disturbance of more than 6 square feet of interior, 20 square feet of exterior, and any demolition or window replacement.
